“My gown came back looking exactly as it did on my wedding day. The champagne stain I was worried about is completely gone. Beautifully boxed and preserved. I’m so glad I didn’t just stuff it in a closet.”

Your gown survived your wedding day. Now protect it forever. Expert cleaning, archival boxing, and heirloom preservation with 40+ years of couture craftsmanship behind every package.
Starting at $400 · Protect Your Memory
Most brides hang their gown in a closet after the wedding and move on. Within a few years, yellowing begins. Sugar stains. Invisible at first. Oxidize and turn brown. Fabrics weaken. The gown you saved for and wore on the most important day of your life starts to deteriorate.
At Margo West, we offer professional wedding dress preservation that stops that process completely. Expert cleaning appropriate to your specific fabrics and embellishments. Archival boxing in acid-free materials. A gown that stays exactly as you left it. Ready to be passed down, displayed, or simply kept safe.
“Forty years of working with wedding gowns has taught me one thing: the ones that last are the ones that were cared for immediately. Don’t wait.”Schedule Preservation Drop-Off
Every gown receives the same careful, methodical approach. From inspection to archival boxing.
Your gown is inspected thoroughly. Every stain, fabric type, and embellishment is catalogued. Any needed repairs are noted. You receive a full condition report and a confirmed price.
Cleaning is tailored to your specific fabrics. Silk, lace, tulle, beading, embroidery. We don’t use a one-size-fits-all process. Stains are pre-treated by hand before any cleaning begins.
Once clean, your gown is carefully pressed and shaped. Returning it to its original form. Ruffles re-set, skirts fluffed, bodice structured. The gown is prepared exactly as it was when you wore it.
Your gown is packed in acid-free tissue and placed in an archival preservation box. Materials are pH-neutral to prevent yellowing for decades. Ready for display, storage, or heirloom transfer.
Wedding gowns face three invisible enemies after the wedding: oxidation, humidity, and time. The stains you can’t see today. Champagne, cake, sweat. Will oxidize and turn yellow or brown within 1–3 years if untreated. White and ivory silks yellow. Lace weakens. Beading loses adhesion. Embroidery threads break.
Preservation stops all of it. The sooner after the wedding, the better. But we regularly work with gowns stored for years. It’s never too late to protect what matters.

“I brought in my mother’s gown from 1989. It was yellowed and had stains. Margo West worked a miracle. It came back brighter and more beautiful than I expected. Now it’s preserved for my daughter someday.”
