Margo West is a Dallas wedding gown designer located in the Design District Dallas. Margo has had a burning desire for fashion and design since she was nine years old. Her mother sewed and made clothes for the entire family. At nine years old Margo and her sister Lisa began designing and making their own clothes for themselves and other family members. It was our favorite past-time. Lisa is still working alongside Margo, even today. Their mother made sure that they both took a few formal classes while growing up to learn the basic concept needed for proper construction and fit. Margo considers her talent a gift from God, and sewing was always easy, fun, and exciting. She has been driven and passionate about design since she was a little girl. She received her first sewing machine at nine years old and still has that same desire to create and design beautiful dresses and gowns. Margo had her first opportunity to sew bridal gowns and formals as an apprentice in high school. There she was able to participate in the design and construction process of Bridal gowns, formals, and Tuxedos. Today, Margo is the creative director and founder of her own bridal gown company, Margo West Bridal.
After graduating high school, Margo served in the U.S. Army but soon realized that it would not be the career path that was chosen for her. A few years later, she found that path, she wanted to work with her hands and use her natural talent for creativity to carve out a living for herself and her daughter who was 2 years old by this time. She worked for a department store during the day, took classes in the evening, and worked a job as a waitress at night. Sewing had to take a back seat to make a living and was not what she had envisioned for herself.” I remember telling my mother that I would have to choose a different career path or go full-time to college”. There was hardly any time for sleep and never enough money. I can see her face today as she looked at me and said ” Margo if you do what you love, then the money will come” Her statement and the timing of it was what I needed to hear at that exact moment. Her words were very instrumental in my success helped to catapult Margo West Bridal into existence.

My most favorite wedding accessory for the bride is her veil. The veil completes the entire look, fully dressed and ready for the aisle. Veils will enhance almost any wedding dress. Choosing the right veil for your dress and body type is important. Veils come in standard lengths and widths. Even though these sizes will fit most, there are brides who may need custom sizing or alterations for their bridal veil. Balancing the veil, the bride, and her gown is key. The veil should not be too skimpy or overpowering. Salon experts can guide you to the perfect choice when it comes to deciding which veil to wear with your gown. Here at Margo West, we can create the perfect custom bridal veil to match your beautiful wedding dress.
